We are currently monitoring the progression of Hurricane Michael as it moves closer to the Gulf Coast of Florida. While we are certainly not expecting another Florence type event, we are expecting tropical storm conditions to impact our area Thursday afternoon into the overnight hours. We are currently under a Tropical Storm Warning, Rip Current Statement, Coastal Flood Advisory and a Flash Flood Watch in advance of Michael.

Expected impacts will be tropical storm force winds, increased wave heights, increased tornado threat, and the possibility for heavy bands of tropical moisture. Please monitor reputable weather sources for accurate weather information as this system moves through our area. 

For our home and business owners, please take this time to take protective measures on your structures, especially if the structure was damaged during Hurricane Florence. This is especially true if you have a tarp on your roof, where it is suggested that you place furring strips along the leading edge of the tarp, to help secure it in place. It is also suggested that you have replacement tarps on hand, should you have to make replacements afterwards.
