Why North Topsail Beach?

The Island of Topsail, off the coast of southeastern North Carolina, is just off US Highway 17, half way between Wilmington and Jacksonville. The Town of Topsail Beach is located at the southern end of this 26-mile long island. North Topsail Beach occupies the northernmost section, and Surf City, the largest town on the island, is in the center.

The Town of Topsail Beach has a friendly, family-oriented style of beach living that makes any family feel comfortable. High rise development is not permitted here, beautification is encouraged, and conservation of the island environment is a top priority among residents. There are over 1,200 homes, but only 500 year-round residents. The seasonally the population increases to about 7,000 with the arrival of tourists. This helps to support and sustain the town's restaurants, gift shops, fishing pier and other local businesses.
